If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know me as the girl doing her makeup on TikTok, talking about beauty, products, and sharing little pieces of my life.

But there’s a lot more to me than what you see on your screen.

So, I thought it was finally time to introduce you to me, the girl behind The Soph Edit.

Hi, I’m Sophia!

And if you’re new here, welcome! I am so happy you’re here:)

I’ve always been someone who has a lot of different interests and a lot of different sides to my personality. I love beauty, fashion, music, writing, creating content, getting dressed up, and honestly just finding little things that make everyday life feel more fun.

I’m also someone who loves expressing herself.

And I think that’s one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with beauty in the first place.

My love for beauty

For me, make up has never really been about trying to look perfect.

It’s about creativity.

It’s about expression.

It’s about being able to sit down in front of a mirror, put on some music, do my makeup, and completely transform my mood.

There’s something about getting ready that has always made me feel more like myself.

What’s funny is, I actually didn’t start wearing makeup until I was about 17 years old. I loved watching YouTube videos on how to do makeup and I actually had always wanted to sit in front of a camera and do a make up tutorial or just record something that I thought would be fun and interesting.

And over time, something that started as a personal interest became something I wanted to share with other people.

That’s where content creation came in.

I started sharing beauty content online, and eventually, I realized that I genuinely loved creating.

I loved filming videos. I loved talking about products. I loved putting together looks. I loved seeing people comment, interact, and tell me something I shared helped them.

But I also realized that I didn’t want to put myself into just one box.

I didn’t want to only be a beauty creator.

Because I’m not just interested in beauty.

There are so many other things I want to talk about, share, and create.

And that’s exactly where the The Soph Edit came from.

So, what exactly is The Soph Edit?

The Soph Edit is my little corner of the internet.

It’s a place I can bring together all of the different things that make me, me.

Beauty, fashion, lifestyle, personal experiences, self growth, writing, content creation, and everything else I’m currently obsessed with.

I wanted somewhere that felt personal.

Somewhere that wasn’t just about what I was wearing or what makeup I was using, but about the girl behind it all.

Because when you’re on social media, people don’t usually see the entire version of you.

They see the makeup, the pictures, the videos, and the good days.

But they don’t always see everything that happens behind the scenes.

And I think that’s something I’ve really started to appreciate as I’ve gotten older.

There is so much more to a person than what they post online.

The girl behind the camera

When I’m not filming content, I’m honestly just…me.

I love country music. I love getting ready and going somewhere even if I spent way too long deciding what to wear and what makeup look to do.

I love Halloween, I love anything that feels glamorous, and I will never say to going to Starbucks and getting a matcha.

I’m also definitely an over thinker.

I can replay the same conversation like 47 times in my head and somehow come up with a completely different interpretation every single time.

But I’m also someone who cares deeply.

I care about the people I love. I care about the things I create. And when I become passionate about something, I tend to go all in.

That’s probably one of the biggest things about me that has followed me into creating The Soph Edit.

I don’t want to do something just halfway.

If I’m going to create something, I want it to actually mean something to me.

Becoming the person I am today

And honestly, I think a huge part of who I am today comes from everything I’ve experienced along the way.

I’m definitely not the same person I was a few years ago.

I’ve grown and I’ve learned.

I’ve had experiences that forced me to look at myself differently and figure out what I actually want out of my life.

And of the biggest things I’ve learned is the importance of choosing yourself.

Not in a selfish way.

But in a way that says, I matter too.

I think there are times in life when you can become so focused on other people’s expectations, opinions, or needs that you forget to ask yourself what YOU actually want.

And learning to come back to yourself is something I’ve really valued.

It’s also part of what inspired my podcast, Choosing Me.

Choosing Me

Creating Choosing Me has given me another place to talk about some of the things that are harder to fit into a beauty video or an Instagram post.

It’s a place where I can talk about experiences, lessons, relationships, growth, and the process of becoming the person you want to be.

And I think that’s actually very connected to The Soph Edit.

Because although the two are different, they both come from the same place.

They’re both about being honest about who you are while you’re still becoming who you’re meant to be.

I don’t have everything figured out and I’m not going to pretend that I do.

I’m learning, growing, and figuring out what I want my life to look like.

And honestly, I think that’s okay.

Where The Soph Edit is going

So, where does The Soph Edit go from here?

I don’t know exactly.

And I actually think that’s one of the most exciting parts.

I have so many ideas for where I want to take it.

I want to continue creating beauty content. I want to grow my blog. I want to continue sharing my experiences and connecting with people. I want to work with brands that I genuinely love. I want to grow my podcast.

And ultimately, I want The Soph Edit to become something bigger than just a website or a social media account.

I want it to become a community.

A place where people can come for beauty inspiration, but stay because they feel like they know the girl behind it.

Because at the end of the day, The Soph Edit isn’t about pretending to have a perfect life.

It’s about sharing the good, the messy, the exciting, the confusing, and everything in between.

So, if you’re reading this and you’ve only known me as the girl behind the makeup tutorials or the TikTok’s, I hope this gave you a little glimpse into who I actually am.

I’m a beauty lover, a creator, a writer.

I’m someone who loves country music, getting dressed up, and finding things to be excited about.

I’m someone who has made mistakes, learned lessons, changed, grown, and continues to figure things out.

And I think that’s what makes The Soph Edit special to me.

Because it isn’t just something I created, it’s a reflection of me.

All of the different parts of me get to exist here: the beauty lover, the girl who loves getting glam, the overthinker, the dreamer, the creator, the girl who is figuring herself out, and most importantly, the girl who is learning to choose herself.
